New update on the AA2 DLC front:
I was recently going through my archives of the AA2 edits. When I originally edited AA2, my first cut ran 2 hours. As you know, the final cut is now 90 minutes on the AA2 DVD. Although I consider the 90 minute version to be the final film, I've been thinking for a while about releasing an extended edition for those who would be curious to see what was cut from the film.
Also, originally the last segment of the film (Sunday event) was cut differently with a slower pace than what it is now. Although I prefer the current edit of the Sunday evening, I think it's quite interesting to view what the other edit looked like, and perhaps even some people might prefer that cut over the current one. So I'm thinking of maybe releasing the extended edition with the alternate ending cut available.
Further more, I've got tons of extras that were never released due to lack of time which was meant for an eventual extras disc pretty similar to the AA1 double disc feature. I forgot how long of running time, but I think I've got over 2 hours of behind the scenes uncut footage with the whole cast from interviews that were often trimmed down a lot on the final film, and some that didn't make the cut at all like a very interesting 10 minute interview with Bianca and RubberDoll on boob implants in the backyard wheer we shot the jaccuzi scene.
So... lots of stuff. And I'm slowly getting back to it all, thinking it might be cool to release all of this. I don't know if I would put all of it as a DVD package or simply as DLC. Now I hear you asking me : "when?" . The answer: I don't know... I have to get back on the editing table and fix things up on the extended edition, etc. So lots of time to invest there. If there is a strong interest, I might try to get it out on time for the Christmas season.
Note that since we have a good stock of the AA2 DVDs, I don't plan on adding this cut of the film with the eventual extended edition. So anyone interested in seeing the 90min version will have to get the current available DVD of AA2.
Hope you like this info. Cheers!

Great idea Martin, count me in as a buyer. Martin wrote: Also, originally the last segment of the film (Sunday event) was cut differently with a slower pace than what it is now. So I'm thinking of maybe releasing the extended edition with the alternate ending cut available. I guess I'm one of very few with a slight preference for bbaa1. The slower cut is one of the reasons, so I'm quite curious about the 2 hr bbaa2 version as well as the alternative cut. Bbaa2 is quite fast from begin to end, without ever slowing down. Particularly at the Polymorphe scene I would have liked more depth and background. I remember my impression after seeing bbaa2 the first time: "Great movie, big fun, a bit superficial (because of the speed?), too short, I want more." Bbaa1 is actually shorter, but didn't leave me behind with that "too short" feeling. Hope you don't mind me writing that, and don't get me wrong, it's a great movie and you're in my top 5 of today's best directors. But I don't have an average taste, so don't take my feedback too seriously. Martin wrote: Further more, I've got tons of extras that were never released I've spend some quality evenings on the bbaa1 bonus disk, the uncut Jean Bardot interview comes to mind, as wella s the car interview. As a side effect that kind of material gives some insight in the cutting process, which is nice and interesting. So if talking about a sort of belated bbaa2 bonus disk... Yes please!

It goes without saying that I would very much like to see this new release! Of course, I am a bit biased here But it would also be interesting to see where you made decisions to cut a scene or an edit. Perhaps it's even time for a director's comment track ? Or to make it even "nec plus ultra" top of the line, a director and Bianca comment track I do realize this would be adding an extra strain to the already huge effort...

A commentary track would be possible indeed...

Sweeeeeeet! I have heard you on video (Yanik's photo school ) a number of times now, and I think you have the voice for it ! It would be a definite added value to hear your take on some of the .... takes (wow, that was some pun!). Having Bianca explaining her vision would also be awesome, especially what is going on in the scenes.
